Second Time

I finally got around to redrawing one of my drawing test. If you dont recognize it yet its the one that requires me to draw objects shaped like a sphere, cube, and a cylinder and then draw it again in a different pose. My previous drawing was done before my shift at work so it was rushed and drawing around people get me nervous. For this one i scoured my house for items and drew the first one yesterday morning and the second one this afternoon. The items in this photo is a christmas tree ball, a green tea, and coffee beans in a box. These are definitely an improvement from last time and for sure im using these ones for my portfolio instead.

Eat your heart out cezanne.

So today i was really focused to get pieces done so here is another one i did today. Im really trying to draw different subjects and decided that fruit studies are staples for every artist's portfolio. This is also my ode to Cezanne the original fruit artist and hopefully i made him proud. If you dont know who he is hes up there Van Gogh and Picasso. Google his name and im sure his pieces will look familiar to you. Anyway back to the piece this was my first time playing around with my brand new oil pastels i bought last week. I thought it was chalk pastel clearly i was wrong so it was definitely a change. On another note, im planning to use this with my intro quote page.

Sunday Morning

So today was my day off and since the beginning of this month that meant time to work on my porfolio. I went to my usual coffee place and brought my sketchbook with me. It was intimidating to have people see me draw and the sun was really shining that day so it was hard to keep my eyes open. I dont really like this piece too much but it was for the drawing test so it was required for me to do.

Damn it its not superman

Here is the opening the piece that im putting for my portfolio. I did this when i was in grade 9 and got exposed to pastel. The project was about spheres, cubes, and cylinders as well as complimentary colours. I was quite an overachiever back then and surprised how good this one specifically turned out. This piece has stayed in hiding rolled up for the last four years until now when i scrounged around for any pieces that i could potentially put up in my portfolio. I still get surprised with the work i put in this one when i look at it.

smoke break.

i know the last few posts have been black and white. before it starts getting somber and dull around here heres a new post in colour. i did this a long time ago in pencil crayon. i believe this was inspired by uma's portrayal of poison ivy in one of the batman movies and i drugged her out. Enjoy!

p.s: i bought pastel today so hopefully more coloured pieces!

jade (sort of)

I did this portrait a while back and it is of my friend. the piece doesnt really resemble her at all but it still turned out pretty good. this was made in pastel and took about a week to do in class.

Audrey Shmaudrey

Here is another portrait that i did. This time it is of Audrey Hepburn. The whole idea was old hollywood so i chose a grey scale color-wise and did the framing as a film roll. Hope you like it.
